Apple in "serious negotiations" to buy Twitter
Apple is in talks for a $700 million takeover of Twitter, it's being reported.
With Google and Microsoft said to be eying the micro-blogging service, and Twitter turning down a $500 million offer from Facebook last year, it's a lot of money and attention for a site that's yet to make money.
This doesn't make sense to me really. What's really in it for Apple?

Japan Pays Foreign Workers to Go Home?
Rita Yamaoka, a mother of three who immigrated from Brazil, recently lost her factory job here. Now, Japan has made her an offer she might not be able to refuse.
The government will pay thousands of dollars to fly Mrs. Yamaoka; her husband, who is a Brazilian citizen of Japanese descent; and their family back to Brazil. But in exchange, Mrs. Yamaoka and her husband must agree never to seek to work in Japan again.
Are they serious? Imagine if the US gov. tried this. People would go nuts! I say take the money and cut your losses. Is that insensitive?
